@sterophonick Why we gotta "do" anything with them?
The problem isn't the people, it's the structure, and the ease with which misinformation is spread
The reason that they're so attached to Trump is that they know that they're hated, and they're afraid that the left will do to them what they've been screaming to be done to the left for the past decade
What do we "do" with them?
Fucking leave them alone
Prove their hate wrong, and extend the same support to them as anyone else.

@katanova from the bottom of my heart i hope this is the correct answer

@sterophonick From my experience with conservative people from various different backgrounds, when the talking points that have been forcefed into their media consumption for the past few years are proved wrong (and only if we start applying ethics standards to media) a fair number of them will stop caring so much.
Some of them will hold onto their hate. Let them rot. Without a direction for it, they'll be left behind as the world moves on.

@sterophonick So, to answer the question more constructively, we don't "do" anything about the people who have been victims of propaganda.
If there is anything to be done, it's to break up the big media companies using the antitrust tools that were established in the early 20th century, and enforce media ethics.
The problem is the structure, and letting rich people control the media has been a bad move.

@sterophonick I can say very sincerely that a lot of these people who follow trump are people who genuinely want to prevent what they see as the collapse of America, and they think that the way to achieve that is with authority and power enforced on the people who don't see the validity of their authority.
To quote @pluralistic
They're not wrong because they're cruel. They're cruel because they're wrong.
